Hey teachers, want to bring Halloween into your lesson plans or parties.

You can teach your kids or adults the Halloween traditions and have some fun doing it.

Here are some creative and fun ideas for Halloween that won't break the wallet.

Kids Halloween ideas:

Costumes are a must.  They go a long way with the kids and make sure you dress up as well.  I always did the cheap ideas from thrift and second hand stores.  You can get some great stuff there and put together a decent costume.

Spaghetti noodles are a big hit.  Cook up some noodles and place in a big bowl.  You can mix in some hard boiled eggs or olives and also some little toy prizes.  Turn the lights down low and have your kids get the prizes out.

Print out these cut outs of some famous Halloween figures.  Have the kids color the figures and learn the different vocabularyGhosts, Witches, Pumpkins

Last but not least, the mummy wrap for the little ones is always fun.  You as the teacher be the mummy and with a roll of toilet paper let them wrap you up.

Make sure you have some candy to hand out after each activity.  If you have different parents to help out, teach the kids the phrase "trick or treat" and have them practice on the different parents and give the parents candy to hand out.  Remember to get permission from parents before handing out candy.  Some kids might be diabetic or allergic to some stuff.  It's always best to make sure beforehand.

Adult Halloween ideas:

Some times you have too cool for school students who don't like costumes and parties too much.  Check out these ideas.

Depending on the level of the English student, you can play word scramble.  With a timer see how many words they can make with the word Halloween or any related word.

Guess the gross food.  Take a paper bag and line it with a ziplock bag.  Inside place different foods.  The adults have to guess the food just by feeling no peeking.  Mashed bananas (brains), spaghetti noodles, (muscles), peeled grapes (eyeballs), large hard pretzles wet (bones)   This game teaches them two sets of vocabularies.

This next game is for the higher level students.  Start a spooky story much like the camp fire story, and stop in the middle.  Where you left off the next person picks up.  This is good practice for their listening, speaking, and fluency.  It also helps if you have some pictures to go along with your story.  I just use pics from clipart on Microsoft Word.

Hope your Halloween parties go well.

Great ideas! But I think costumes can add educational value regardless of the age. Legendary historical figures or characters from reading lists always seem like a hit! More "teacher appropriate" costume ideas here:
